Dr. Manmohan Singh after hosting the flag, sent out a positive Independence Day message that India had self faith, political stability and economic strength to march towards “a golden future."

The Prime Minister calls for a “new era of cooperation and harmony in our national life.” Asserting that people had rejected in the last election sectarian politics and have “chosen a political arrangement which is secular,” the Prime Minister promises to take every one along and to create “an environment of consensus and cooperation in the country.”

I had bought a flag yesterday a small one and hosted it my self in my room. It really fells great seeing the flag waving. TV channels where playing the national anthem and monophonic vande Matharam. These days remind us the sacrifices of great leaders and soldiers.
TV also were showing patriotic movies like RDB and swadesh to lure the public in a social realm.

After a long time I had gone for charitable work. This service is done through my company,HP .It is associated with Sahana Charitable trust for disabled. In this we have to go and read a textbook and the blind person will type it into a special type writer Braille. Each Braille character or cell is made up of six dot positions, arranged in a rectangle containing two columns of three dots each. A dot may be raised at any of the six positions to form sixty-four (2⁶) permutations, including the arrangement in which no dots are raised. For reference purposes, a particular permutation may be described by naming the positions where dots are raised, the positions being universally numbered 1 to 3, from top to bottom, on the left, and 4 to 6, from top to bottom, on the right. For example, dots 1-3-4 would describe a cell with three dots raised, at the top and bottom in the left column and on top of the right column, i.e., the letter m

The special books that are printed are distributed all over Karnataka. I was reading to a blind person called V.K he is blind and has to support a family of 4. He travels for 2 hrs daily. What a life! Sahana Charitable trust for disabled have employed many blind people to print books to teach the blind through out Karnataka.

I have been closely following elections 2009. It has been divided into 5 phases starting April 16th, April 23rd ,April 30th , May 6thand May 13th and counting is on May 16 th.

There are many issues for the next government; mainly it’s the recession and security. UPA seems to be a strong contender with nuclear deal in its feather cap. Also the way they dealt with recession. India is least affected by recession. The area where UPA mainly congress lies behind is in home security and its foreign policy. The Congress has also promised to enact a Right to Food law that guarantees food for all. It has announced that every family living below the poverty line will be entitled to 25 kg of rice or wheat per month at Rs 3 per kg. The manifesto promises subsidised community kitchens, which will be set up in all cities for homeless people and migrants, with the support of the central government.

NDA is backing on its Hinidutva policy and the economic progress it had done in it tenure. They expect Modi’s policy in Gujarat for replication in whole India. The odds against BJP are Gujarat rites and the terrorist activities in their tenure. BJP promises a new POTA-like law and also woos the poor and middle class with many promises. Also promises like All BPL families to get 35kg of rice or wheat every month at Rs 2 per kg and Ensure farm loans at a maximum interest rate of 4 percent.

The Third Front, which will be amalgamation of eight parties including Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India Marxists (CPM), Forward Block, RPI, TDP, TRS, All India Anna Dravida Munetra Kazagam (AIADMK) and JD(S).They all are anti congress and anti BJP . True, neither Congress nor the BJP is strong enough to win a majority alone; the influence of both parties has been eroded by the emergence of a plethora of parties tied to Various regions, castes and ideologies. Yet the fragmentation of Indian politics that has weakened the two national parties and made possible the emergence of the Third Front is also a threat to the cohesion and staying power of the new alliance itself. Even if the Third Front does well enough at the polls to win over more supporters and form a government, it would almost certainly be fatally weakened by internecine bickering, policy dissension and leadership clashes.

Hamas and several allied Palestinian factions have announced an immediate one-week ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, giving Israel seven days to pull out of the territory.
The move, following a meeting of the factions in Damascus, comes a day after Israel called a unilateral truce, ending its 22-day offensive in Gaza which led to the deaths of 1,203 Palestinians.
"We in the Palestinian resistance movements announce a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and demand that enemy forces withdraw in a week and open all the border crossings to permit the entry of humanitarian aid and basic goods," Mussa Abu Marzuk, deputy leader of Hamas's political bureau, said in Damascus on Sunday.
However, Ayman Mohyeldin, Al Jazeera's correspondent in Gaza City, said some in the Gaza Strip are claiming a victory for Hamas and other Palestinian factions.
"On an operational level on the last day of the war and even after the war Palestinian factions are still capable of firing rockets, no doubt about that.
Hamas and Israel declared independent ceasefires each with separate terms [AFP]"In fact, more than a dozen or so have been fired today according to the factions here on the ground.
"On a symbolic level, at the end of the day the Palestinian people remain here on the ground, having paid a very heavy price though.
"Their position was one of steadfast defiance. The fact that they can stay and essentially ... claim that they have been able to stave off this aggression, in terms of the leadership and the command and control structure of Hamas and the government here, is certainly a sign for many here that they have been victorious."

In the recently concluded World Entrepreneurship Forum at Evian, France, it was discussed how entrepreneurs are the creators of economic wealth and social justice. Today the world is facing challenges like rising population, poverty, changes in business environment and emerging countries gaining significant economic strength. It is perceived that creation and distribution of wealth is the key to our future. Innovation led entrepreneurship initiatives, which will create not only economic wealth, but also social justice, are ideally placed to take up these challenges. Entrepreneurship is a context-sensitive phenomenon. For example the start-upbusiness- model which works well in Spain may not work in India. The business opportunities are dependent on level of development of the economy and prevailing cultural and social context. Atamer (2007) proposed three types of economic and cultural environments, referred to as 'ethos', which condition entrepreneurship: The free market system or ethos: Economic wealth is created and distributed by the market. This is the Anglo-Saxon Model. The cooperative system or ethos: The state plays an important role in the redistribution of wealth that is created mainly by the market. Numerous European countries, including France, function in this way. The parallel system or ethos: Neither the state nor the market play the leading role. Wealth and social justice are created locally and are based on membership of social groups. This is the situation in emerging countries, including the famous 'BRIC' (Brazil, Russia, India and China). During recessionary times, thinkers across the world are having common consent that new business models should emerge for creation of new jobs, new opportunities and new ideas. In India itself we need millions of jobs for our young population. It is important for us to empower the local entrepreneurship with constant support/mentorship from government and industry. The best examples of our home-grown local entrepreneurship activities becoming the large corporate houses who are providing employment to millions of people are Reliance, Nirma, Infosys, HCL to name a few. Many academic institutions like Babson College, USA; Emloyn Business School, France; University of Essex Business School, UK; Europe Asia Business School, India; are promoting entrepreneurship education through various ways. For instance, EABS has started an entrepreneurship club where students are encouraged to start an enterprise in controlled environment with their fellow classmates and faculty members as consultants. Students have the option of taking the enterprise to the next level of venture capital funding if they are satisfied with the progress during the one year. Such enterprises not only help students in understanding the complexities of business but also help them in creating wealth and employments for generations to come.

I discover that Israelis have a hidden empathy to what Palestinians have experienced for the past 60 years. In my opinion, this is a proof that this conflict isn't only a colonial conflict over lands, but most importantly it's a conflict about the national identity which is connected to the land. Deep at heart, every Israeli Jew suspects that the Zionist narrative to be farce. However, because Israel was created by usurping Palestinian rights, Israelis and most Jews find it necessary to deny Palestinians of their national rights and identity. This Israeli insecurity (or paranoia) increases whenever Palestinians assert their national identity (i.e. resistance to colonialism, demanding the right of return, ..etc) because it reaffirms that this is a conflict that will transcend generations.

The Elements

Elements is a restaraunt on the Nandidurg main road, near Jayamahal Road.Its a little far from the main city. It feels surprisingly cozy and secluded because of the well-designed entrance area. You walk in, and the first thing you see is a yummy-looking chocolate counter (they take large orders) on your right. The restaurant (ground and first floor) is interestingly designed. A rough-hewn wood staircase takes you upstairs. The décor is wood and earth, with an ethnic touch. The look is carried through the low tables, benches and chairs, with comfy bolsters and cushions. Very nice.The crowd is young, college groups chilling round a hookah, yuppies from the offices nearby and couples .

There’s varied and interesting continental fare, with bakes, steaks, sizzlers. And ample choice for vegetarians. We tried some of their very original mocktails, served in glasses to match. The Coconut Cooler, a simple coconut water with a dash of lime proved the most refreshing. The food’s very good, but not terribly consistent.

8 of us from my batch at BIT, Mesra had a get together there we ordered steaks and barbeque chicken. Eat till max and bill just came arround 2800. We’re definitely coming back for more.

Souk Al Sharq, one of the best malls built on Sea. Its a huge market with all top international brands, Debenhams in one corner and Sultan center on the other. It was opened in 1999.I had gone there with my brother,Afroz Ahmad the first time and was amazed with the beauty. The prices are at higher side but a good place to hang out and have food.Here is the picture of backside of Mall from the beach side.

The mall was also hit by a missile from IRAQ in 2005.Many big malls have been built nowdays but this has its own importance.This picture is at a parking lot and you can see the sea behind.

Kuwait Beaches are so quiet and pleasant. Had swam in the sea I was 5, Recently I again visited the famous sea near kuwait towers. The sea in the picture is arabian gulf and tower is called kuwait towers ,It was designed by were designed by Sune Lindström and Malene Björn and were built by Energoprojekt, a company from Belgrade, Serbia

The Kuwait Towers are three towers of reinforced concrete in Kuwait City. The main tower is 187 metres high and serves as a restaurant and water tower. It also has a Viewing Sphere which rises to 11123 meters above sea level and completes a full round turn every 30 minutes. The second tower is 145.8 metres high and serves as a water tower. I have come to Bangalore airport by Airlift, I only had two options the bus and airlift , my flight was at 4 in the morning so was risky to go to the bus stop in the night and was far too.. other option was airlift, though I heard bad reviews about this but it was the cheapest and best option. There was confusion about luggage allowed, You can easily carry 30 kgs luggage and at odd time there will be max 3 people in 5 seater. The cost is 330. there is no GPS and TV as depicted in the add.

This new airport started recently and its very grand , everything is good about the Airport but its very far from the city. its like a real internationaly airport with free dutyshops. You do not sustain a military assault for three days, taking only combat naps, unless you know what you are doing. You have to have been shot at before. You cannot be intimidated by flash-bang grenades, or commandos fast-roping down the side of a building. Indulging in the same sort of speculation as the terrorism experts, I would say it's likely the attackers picked up their combat experience in Afghanistan. They could have come out of Iraq as well, but Mumbai seems a little far afield for Iraqis.

So what is new about Mumbai, November 2008?
It is tempting to label the attackers as 'crazies' - but such a dismissive appellation may be misplaced
The obvious novelty is the use of frontal assault tactics instead of timed explosive devices.
This is new in the urban Indian context. There was one notable exception - an attack by a five-man squad armed with rifles and grenades on India's Parliament in New Delhi in December 2001.
The attackers were narrowly prevented by alert staff from gaining access to the building, where hundreds of parliamentarians and ministers were attending a session.
They were gunned down near the entrance by security personnel after an hour-long battle.
Nine guards and parliament stewards also died.
This attack led to the crisis of 2002 between India and Pakistan.
The Indian government blamed Pakistani religious radicals, and embarked on a major military build-up on the border with Pakistan, to which Pakistan responded with its own mobilisation.
The stand-off eventually wound down later in 2002 after months of tension and brinkmanship.
But frontal assaults, usually carried out by two-man teams firing semi-automatic rifles and lobbing grenades, were the favoured tactic of the insurgency in Indian-administered Kashmir between 1999 and 2003.
Fidayeen technique
Scores of such attacks were carried out by "fidayeen" (literally "death-defying") squads in Indian-administered Kashmir during that period.

Ahmedabad saw rioting after the Gujarat killings in 2002In many instances, these attacks led to confrontations lasting anywhere between 24 and 72 hours between the raiders and security forces, who were often constrained by the presence of trapped civilians.
Most of the locations targeted were Indian military and police installations in the Kashmir Valley, particularly in the regional capital Srinagar.
But some attacks targeted civilians, especially in and around the Hindu-majority city of Jammu, in the southern part of Indian-administered Kashmir.
The perpetrators were not members of the main homegrown Kashmiri insurgent group, the Hizb-ul Mujahideen ("Warriors of the Faith").
The fidayeen technique - a rudimentary form of "shock and awe" warfare - was introduced into Kashmir by Pakistani radical organisations that entered the Kashmir insurgency from the mid-1990s onwards.
The large majority of fidayeen attacks in Kashmir were perpetrated by one such organisation, the Lashkar-e-Toiba, headquartered in Pakistan and founded and led by Pakistani religious radicals.
The Lashkar-e Toiba did over time recruit a handful of local Kashmiris as fidayeen cadre, but most of the attackers were Pakistani nationals who had crossed into Indian-administered Kashmir.
Fidayeen attacks have died down in Kashmir since India-Pakistan relations thawed from 2004 onward.
But the deployment of exactly the same tactic in central Mumbai shows that this technique has now found a new and even more dangerous theatre in which to operate.
Method
The tactic is thus not without precedent, but the mayhem in Mumbai may nonetheless mark a new chapter in the evolution of urban terrorism in India.
Bombs planted in markets and on commuter trains kill and maim working-class and middle-class Indians.
The gunmen who attacked two luxury hotels, and a fashionable cafe frequented by visiting Westerners, have brought the "war" - as they see it - to India's elite class, and to affluent Westerners living in or visiting India's most cosmopolitan city.
If reports that the gunmen specifically looked for American and British citizens to take hostage are true, it would suggest that this terrorist spectacular had little to do with the prejudice and discrimination many Muslims do encounter in India.
It is tempting to label the attackers as "crazies". But such a dismissive appellation may be misplaced.
It is more than likely that the masterminds are seasoned operatives and that the foot-soldiers, young as they may have been, had undergone rigorous training for months, perhaps years.
The attacks also show every sign of having been designed to maximise media attention on a global scale. In other words, there is a method to the madness.

W all may hear about DL method in matches, that India has won by DL method, Wanted to briefly explain what is Duckworth-Lewis method. In the sport of cricket, the Duckworth-Lewis method (D/L method) is a mathematical way to calculate the target score for the team batting second in a one-day cricket or Twenty-20 cricket match interrupted by weather or other circumstance. It is generally accepted to be a fair and accurate method of setting a target score, but as it attempts to predict what would have happened had the game come to its natural conclusion, it generates some controversy. The D/L method was devised by two English statisticians, Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis.
Stoppage in 1st Innings
In the 4th India - England ODI in the 2008 series, the first innings was interrupted by rain on two occasions, resulting in the match being reduced to 22 overs a side. India (batting first) made 166/4. England's target was therefore set by the D/L method at 198 from 22 overs.
This example illustrates how the D/L method sets a higher target for the team batting second when the delay occurs in the 1st innings. Because England knew they had only 22 overs the expectation is that they will be able to score more runs from those overs than India had from their (interrupted) innings. England made 178/8 from 22 overs, and so the match was listed as "India won by 19 runs (D/L method)"
The essence of the D/L method is 'resources'. Each team is taken to have two 'resources' to use to make as many runs as possible: the number of overs they have to receive; and the number of wickets they have in hand. At any point in any innings, a team's ability to score more runs depends on the combination of these two resources. Looking at historical scores, there is a very close correspondence between the availability of these resources and a team's final score, a correspondence which D/L exploits
Using a published table which gives the percentage of these combined resources remaining for any number of overs (or, more accurately, balls) left and wickets lost, the target score can be adjusted up or down to reflect the loss of resources to one or both teams when a match is shortened one or more times. This percentage is then used to calculate a target (sometimes called a 'par score') that is usually a fractional number of runs. If the second team passes the target then the second team is taken to have won the match; if the match ends when the second team has exactly met (but not passed) the target (rounded down to the next integer) then the match is taken to be a tie.
Application
The D/L method is relatively simple to apply, but requires a published reference table and some simple mathematical calculations. As with most non-trivial statistical derivations, however, the D/L method can produce results that are somewhat counterintuitive, and the announcement of the derived target score can provoke a good deal of second-guessing and discussion amongst the crowd at the cricket ground. This can also be seen as one of the method's successes, adding interest to a "slow" rain-affected day of play.
Applied to 50 over matches, each team has to face at least 20 overs before D/L can decide the game. In Twenty20 games, each side has to face at least 5 overs.

On his 43rd birthday here is a brief account, Shahrukh Khan’s biography, mainly an account of his 15 year film career.

Born in Delhi, on November 2, 1965, in a Muslim family, Shahrukh Khan is a perfect example of a self made man. In fact, what he is today is totally due to his own effort and now he is one of the best actors that Indian cinema has ever seen. Shahrukh started his acting journey right from his college going days. Armed with an unfinished Masters Degree in Mass Communications from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi and learning the nitty-gritties he took the plunge in the world of acting.

Shahrukh Khan’s performance was first noticed in the television serial ‘Fauji’, which was his small screen debut. But then nobody was expecting that the thin shy boy would become a superstar one day. In the next teleserial, ‘Circus’ Shahrukh played the role of an unconcerned son of a circus owner. Shahrukh’s Bollywood journey began with Raj Kanwar’s ‘Deewana’ (1992) and he was awarded the Filmfare Best newcomer award for the same film. From there till date Shahrukh Khan never looked back. In a period, success became synonymous with Shahrukh’s name.

Shahrukh Khan’s life history is quite interesting. Cinema lovers have accepted Shahrukh Khan in various kinds of roles particularly as the romantic boy. Most importantly in the initial stage of his career when he was trying to get a foothold in Hindi film industry, he accepted the negative roles. He played an obsessed lover in Yash Johar’s ‘Darr’, that challenging role provided him an instant recognition. The unique style of dialogue delivery "Ka...Ka.... Kaa.... Kiran" became very popoular during those days. ‘Baazigar’, ‘Ram Jaane’ and ‘Anjaam’ were other films in which Shahrukh played negative characters.

‘Darr’ opened the floodgates of success for Shahrukh and he made an entry into the Yash Chopra camp. Yash Raj’s ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ (1995) was a roaring hit that got him the Filmfare Best Actor Award. The film made a record of running continuously over 500 weeks in Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir. ‘Dil to Pagal Hai’, ‘Mohabbatein’ and ‘Veer Zaara’ were other successful films under the Yash Raj banner and all praised the work of Shahrukh Khan’s performance in these films. Karan Johar’s ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’, ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ and ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ were another feathers in his cap. Shahrukh’s other notable films include ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman’, ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’, ‘Pardes’, ‘Yes Boss’, ‘Dil Se’ and ‘Josh’.

With a wish to enact dual responsibility, Shahrukh Khan launched his own production company ‘Dreamz Unlimited’ in collaboration with actress Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza. ‘Dreamz Unlimited’ made remarkable films ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ and ‘Chalte Chalte’. In the year 2004, Shahrukh launched another banner called ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’ and made ‘Main Hoon Naa’ that become a big hit. SRK’s ‘Om Shanti Om’ is another film from ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’, which is set to release on November 9. Om Shanti Om’s success can be his best birthday gift.

Shahrukh Khan has won above fifty national and international awards. In 2004 he was conferred with prestigious ’Padma Shri’ Award for his valuable contribution to Indian art and culture. Shahrukh is catching up with veteran actor Dilip Kumar in bagging the maximum number of Filmfare Best Actor awards. He has won six Filmfare awards in the best actor category till now.

Rajiv Gandhi Airport, hyderabad , We had visited the airport for a long drive and just to spend some time, The airport is 25 km from city and spread in 1000s of acres , It has been created wonderfully , world case facilities, so many parking space, The Arrival lounge has lots of place to sit and there are many eating joints, retail outlet, landmark, mc donals and cafe coffee day. the depature lounge is on 3rd floor and had lots of rush. Many people go there just for an outing and are not travellers.This is the best airport in India. Parking is 70 Rs for 2 hrs. The Cauvery river tumbles majestically down the Shivasamudram Falls, also called the Shivanasamudram Falls. Located in Mandya district in Karnataka state, the Shivasamudram Falls has twin jumps, Gaganachukki and Bharachukki, one km away from each other. Torrential rains in the Cauvery basin and the flooding of the river Kapila added more power and lustre to the beautiful scene. We were standing on the watchtower viewing the falls along the banks of the river Cauvery.
The eastern falls - Bhara Chukki After getting down the bus at Shivasamudram, which is popularly called Bluff, we walked along the banks of Cauvery for two km through green fields interposed hither and thither with multitudes of young trees before we approached the waterfall.
From the watchtower, one can view the falls where the river plunges downward in a wonderful cascade, sending up dense clouds of mist, presenting a breathtaking scene. We sat on one of the stone benches overlooking the falls which plunges to a depth of 300-350 ft. Shivasamudram falls is the second biggest water falls in India.
Cauvery, called the Ganga of the South, takes its birth at Talacauvery in western ghats in Kodagu district and traverses through Hassan, Mysore, Mandya and Bangalore districts, joining with rivers Harangi, Hemavathi, Lakshmana Thirtha and Kapila. Before coursing into Tamilnadu, it leaves behind many resplendent waterfalls in its course, among which Shivasamudram falls is an important one.

The western falls - Gagana Chukki At Shivasamudram, the river branches into two, creating the second largest island in its course. There are a group of ancient temples situated in this island. It is believed that very long ago there was a village in this island. Each branch of the river at Shivasamudram has a separate falls - the western falls known as Gagana Chukki and the eastern falls, Bhara Chukki.
The 90-metre falls on the river rushing through the huge boulders attract the tourists during July-August when the river Kabini also floods along with Cauvery.
Bhara Chukki lies a km or so away from Gagana Chukki. On the way to Bhara Chukki, we visited an ancient dargah situated along the bank, which attracts hundreds of Muslims everyday to visit and worship. After a few yards of walk, we found Bhara Chukki falls, raising a dense mist to a height of about 300 ft. Multitudes of tourists, new couples and youngsters come here to see the natural beauty in its magnificent glory. Compared to Gagana Chukki, Bhara Chukki wears a more serene look, owing to the steady sheet of water falling without many boulders hindering its course downward. Both Gagana Chukki and Bhara Chukki are a paradise for the nature lovers.

After the turbulent fall, the river traverses in a quite manner through a thick green valley at a depth of about 400 feet towards the east.
Shivasamudram is also famous for its hydro power station which was started in 1902 by Sheshadri Ayyar, a dewan of Mysore. This is said to be the first hydro power station in Asia and from here power was supplied to Bangalore -- the first city to get power in India - in 1906 and then to Kolar Gold Fields and Mysore.
A panoramic view of the valley beyond Shivasamudram In the hydro station, power is produced by running the water through a pipe having sufficiently larger diameter and kept at an inclined position from a height of 350 ft. Through a turbine, the hydraulic force of water is transmitted to an alternator which generates electric power.
There was a trolley for the visitors to see the working of the hydro station. But now, unfortunately, those who want to go for a trolley ride, return with disappointment. It is because the use of trolley was stopped six years ago when a militant group vowed that it will blow up the hydro station. If the authorities commence the trolley ride again, it will attract more visitors.
Another view of the Sivasamudram Falls Shivasamudram lies in its unpolluted ambience which adds beauty to the place. Nearby the falls, there are no shops, bars and restaurants or any other kind of disturbance. However, it needs basic facilities such as water, shelter and toilet. Better facilities will no doubt attrabct more tourists
